Book Your SMSTS Refresher or SSSTS Refresher Today

Don’t leave it till the last minute to book your CITB Site Safety Plus refresher course because you run the risk of having to attend one of the full courses (at full cost of course) meaning more time in a classroom rather than earning a wage on-site.

CITB Refresher Courses

The Construction Industry Training Board recognises the need for those who attend their SMSTS courses and SSSTS courses to retrain and refresh their skills. As health and safety legislation progresses and updates, it is essential to keep everywhere working on a construction site up-to-date and working to the same standards.

This is where CITB's SMSTS Refresher and SSSTS Refresher courses come in. These can be booked by anyone who has attended and passed the respective full course and holds a valid CITB certificate at the time the refresher course starts.

Book Before It's Too Late

CITB have tightened their rules over the past year and the discretionary grace period, that many candidates relied upon to get re-qualified, doesn’t exist any more. CITB no longer accept extension requests to SMSTS certificates or SSSTS certificates either.

Your certificate must be current and in-date on the day you start your refresher training. If it’s expired, even by one day, you will not be accepted onto the course and will have to attend and pass the full SMSTS course or SSSTS course to continue working on building sites.

Many of our delegates are not aware of this and leave it till their certificate has expired before enquiring about booking a CITB refresher course. Candidates also fall into the trap of waiting just that little bit too late and then can't find a convenient course location before their certificate expires, leaving them with a lot of unnecessary travel.

New Rules For Site Safety Plus Courses

CITB have also announced a number of significant changes to the Site Safety Plus Scheme Rules for courses held from January 2018 onwards. Perhaps the most important changes are that the pass rate is now 80% (20 our of 25) and there are now 20 multiple-choice questions and 5 non-multiple-choice questions in the exams.
