What is an IPAF PAL Card?
The PAL Card's full name is Powered Access Licence Card and is issued by IPAF (The International Powered Access Federation).
It is an internationally recognised licence of competence, demonstrating an operator's ability to safely operate various types of mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs).
An IPAF licence holder will have one or more categories listed on their card, along with the expiry date.
To gain categories on an PAL Card, an operator must attend one of the many IPAF training courses available across the country.
IPAF categories are valid for 5 years from the date of the operator's training course and they must be renewed before they expire to continue working at height using powered access equipment.
